Director of Special Services - Brigid Bright

B BrightBrigid Bright has worked in education since 2002 and in the Harrison School District since 2004.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary/Special Education from Henderson State University. Dr. Bright continued her education at the University of Central Arkansas,  earning a Master of Science degree as a 4-12 Instructional Specialist as well as Curriculum/Program Leadership certification in special education.  In 2020, she earned her Doctorate of Education from Lindenwood University.

Dr. Bright taught special education for seven years, gaining experience in both elementary and secondary levels.

Dr. Bright takes an active role in special education leadership on the state and national levels. She has served as President and Vice President of the Arkansas Association of Special Education Administrators, Vice President and Policy/Legislative Chair of AR Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), and member of CASE’s National Policy/Legislative Committee. Dr. Bright also served on the Arkansas Department of Education Paperwork Reduction Task Force.

“As Harrison special educators, we provide quality educational and support services to students with disabilities to promote the acquisition of academic, behavioral, and social skills." Bright says. "We believe students respond to high, yet attainable, expectations expressed through IEP goals and objectives. Our students know serving them was our first choice, and they are exceptional Goblins!”
