Amber Likes is a home-town native, living in Harrison her entire life. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 from Arkansas State University. In 2011, she completed her Master’s in Special Education at her alma mater. Returning once again to Arkansas State University, she completed her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 2019.
Mrs. Likes and her husband, Brandon, have two beautiful daughters named Josalyn and Ava.
She currently serves as Vice President of the Arkansas Council of Administrators for Special Education and is an Arkansas Appointed Representative for the national Council of Exceptional Children.
Serving as HPS Director of Special Services, Amber’s philosophy is summed up with the following quote:
"The severity of one's disability does not determine their level of potential. The greatest barriers that persons with disabilities have to overcome are not steps or curbs, it's expectations."
