About Harrison

Divider Lines

Proudly serving more than 2,700 students, the Harrison School District is Building The Future: Every Learner, Every Way, Every Day. Headquartered in beautiful Harrison, Arkansas, the district's boundaries stretch more than 200 square miles throughout Boone and Newton counties. The City of Harrison is home to about 13,000 people, with many more living in surrounding rural communities.

Harrison School District will be applying for the Nita M. Lowey The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant for programs located at Harrison Middle School to serve students in grades 5-12 as well as a program located at Skyline Heights Elementary school to serve all elementary students throughout the district in grades K-4.

This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
