The tradition lives on at Harrison Public Schools! Farmer Fred Days are officially here, and our Harrison Administration Team kicked off the celebration in their matching tees to honor a legacy that means so much to our community.
For those who may not know the story behind this special tradition:
Years ago, first-grade teacher Mary Cecil had a simple wish for her students—to experience a real farm. She reached out to Fred Woehl, and from that single call, a cherished Harrison tradition was born. Over time, many other Harrison classes and teachers joined in visiting Fred's farm. From hosting pony rides to bringing live animals directly to the schools, "Farmer Fred" always went above and beyond for Harrison's kids.
Today, that tradition lives on through the Harrison High School FFA’s new mobile petting zoo, bringing hands-on learning and live animals directly to our campuses so every generation of students can share in the magic.
Thank you, Farmer Fred, for teaching us that community, education, and legacy grow together! 🐮✨
