Position Title: Family Support Partner (FSP)
Reports to: Local FSP Supervisor and the State FSP Coordinator
Job Overview
The Prevention Pilot Project FSP will provide support and coordination to families and children in the Prevention, Stabilization, and Support Project for Young Children (PSSP-YC). The purpose of Prevention, Stabilization, and Support Project for Young Children (PSSP-YC) is to assist families/children at risk of losing their current placement in their educational setting (daycare, early education center, classroom, etc.) The FSP will walk alongside the family and child to implement a prevention plan. They will support them to access needed community services, to develop prevention strategies, and will monitor their progress and ongoing needs. They will support them in making changes in their family support plan as their needs change over time.
FSPs must be committed to providing high quality supports that focus on the families’ needs and priorities in a manner that is honest and respectful.
Candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:
Education:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social services, education, psychology or related field
• Years of experience can be substituted for educational requirement
Experience:
• experience working with children/families experiencing difficulty
Additional Requirements:
• Must have a heart for supporting children and families in their community to enjoy a better quality of life
• Must have strong people skills and be able to form effective working relationships with a wide range of people
• Must have the ability to listen and problem solve
• Must have communication skills that enable effective, courteous interaction with families and team members
• Must pass required background checks and drug screen
• Must be able to lift to 30 pounds and climb stairs
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, travel is required
• Must be available evenings, weekends and on-call as assigned
• Must be willing to complete required training
