Harrison Middle School’s first annual Fall Fest was held this week, and we can truly say a great time was had by all. Organized by HMS teachers Stephanie Benton and Staci Tucker, the event served as a fundraiser for the HMS after-school student program.
All students in grades 5-8 were invited to bring their families and enjoy the over 20 fun activities that had been planned, including:
Bingo
Plinko
Football toss
Pop toss
Witch hat toss
Golf
Cake walk
Basketball shoot
Spin the wheel
Fishing for prizes
Face painting
Hayride
Old-fashioned jail
And much, much more!
In addition to the fun activities, a concession stand was open for snacks. Smores were sold as treats, and the Pink Flamingo Shaved Ice and Sweet Treats food truck was on site to sell snow cones and funnel cakes.
Anstaff Bank brought their grill and served free hot dogs for students and parents in attendance. We are so grateful for their generosity and their support of our school.
Parent and community support made this event possible. It was truly a group effort involving community, administration, staff, parents, and students. Over 20,000 items (including candy, snack cakes, soda, and more) were donated by parents. High school students volunteered for community service hours and worked hard to serve where needed.
We are already looking forward to next year’s fall festival!
