School psychologists are valuable contributors to student success. In recent years, the demand for school psychologists has become more pronounced as the needs of students grow. They are not only tasked with managing behavioral or academic needs of students, but also work to develop strategies to support students affected by ongoing or traumatic stress. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community. They apply their expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically.
We are incredibly fortunate at Harrison Public Schools to have a full-time school psychologist on staff for our students. Dr. Stacy Moore brings a wealth of knowledge in mental health, behavior, and learning to help our students be more successful, assisting the district in our goal of meeting the needs of every learner, every day, every way.
The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has designated November 11–15, 2024 as National School Psychology Week. This week provides an annual opportunity to recognize the important work school psychologists do to help students thrive.
We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to Dr. Stacy Moore for all that she does to benefit our students. Dr. Moore, you are greatly appreciated!
