Harrison Public Schools is proud to announce that HHS junior Mark Gregory Green has been selected to participate in U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-AR) 2024-2025 Congressional Youth Cabinet.
The Congressional Youth Cabinet, now in it's eighth year, is a nonpartisan program created by Senator Boozman to develop the next generation of leaders in our state, while also encouraging a commitment to civic engagement and public service. The program provides Arkansas students with opportunities to gain insight and experience with the legislative process. Youth cabinet members will serve a one-year term which begins in the fall.
“I am pleased to welcome this group of bright young people to contribute their ideas and experiences to the Congressional Youth Cabinet as we explore legislative solutions to the issues that interest them most. Mark and his fellow participants are already enthusiastically engaged in enhancing their own civic engagement skills and developing as leaders. I congratulate him and look forward to the contributions he will offer while representing himself, his family and community,” Boozman said.
Congressional Youth Cabinet members will attend meetings throughout the year and work in teams to select and research national issues. In the spring, students will present their policy recommendations to Senator Boozman. The Youth Cabinet's first meeting was held at Arkansas' Old State House Museum in Little Rock.
Congratulations, Mark!
