Job shadowing allows students to observe working professionals as they go about their day. This provides valuable opportunities for high schoolers to gain firsthand experiences in various career fields. Students observe professionals in the workplace, explore potential interests, and develop a better understanding of different job roles and the skills they require. All of this benefits students as they make decisions about their own future career paths.
Harrison Schools’ College and Career Readiness Coaches Kelly Regan and Ashley Massengale coordinate job shadowing opportunities for students. Today, Harrison junior Ashlee Pouncy is learning more about a day in the life of an Advanced Practice Nurse while job-shadowing with Dixie Shrum, APN at Cornerstone Medical Clinic in Harrison. We are grateful for all of our local partners who donate their time to provide these experiences. Harrison is a great community!
