Four Black Hills Energy trucks were parked outside Forest Heights Elementary early this morning. They were not there because of power outages or weather complications, but were instead there giving of their time to help our students.
Team members from Black Hills recently reached out to school administration to inquire about ways they could help. The school backpack program, under the direction of school nurse Rachel Bice, provides 2-3 meals each weekend for students needing support.
When the Black Hills team learned that the program could use donations, they went to work raising funds to order food supplies. This morning, team members delivered just under $1,000 in food stuffs to stock the back pack program pantry.
Their generosity didn't stop there. In addition to the supplied food items, they also donated $500 to further benefit the program.
Please help us say THANK YOU to Black Hills for reaching out and making a difference in the lives of our students!
