The Harrison School District nurses provide state mandated annual screenings of vision, hearing, body mass index and scoliosis for mandated grades. These screenings occur in September of every school year and are free to all students. The intent of the screenings shall be to detect defects in hearing, vision, or other elements of health that would adversely affect the student's ability to achieve their full potential. The district shall notify parents annually through the school website, announcements, or notes home of the specific or approximate dates of any non-emergency screening, administered by the school and scheduled by the school in advance. If a deficiency is detected you will be notified of a needed follow up by a physician for a full exam. We will ask that you report the date of the exam and findings to close out the referral. If any assistance is needed to complete a referral, financial or otherwise please notify your school nurse so we may assist you in this area.
If you DO NOT want your child to participate in a district screening, your objection must be provided to your school nurse in writing by the screening date. If you choose to opt out of a vision, hearing or scoliosis screening, you will be asked to provide proof that this exam has been completed in the past six months, to satisfy Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Health requirements.
Scheduled screening dates for the 2023-2024 school year. If any date changes occur. they will be posted on the school district website and social media.

Happy Friday! We have made it through the second week of school! Yay! We have had a great week and we are so proud of our Skyline students!
Just a quick reminder that the tardy bell rings at 8:05 and teaching begins at that time. We have students that are not getting into the classroom until 8:30 or later and missing important lessons. Some of them are eating breakfast at that time and we want to ensure they get to do that before the bell rings. If your child is a car rider that eats breakfast - please drop them off with enough time to eat and be in the classroom by 8:05 :) Thank you so much!
